In a world full of fake images and pretentious, robotic like people, it can be rare to find those who are authentic! We see so many people wasting their lives showing off for others all while failing to be aware of who God actually created them to be. So many are blinded by the world’s ideologies that they aimlessly follow trends, idols and traditions that ultimately lead them to nowhere. Then they wonder why there is no joy, peace or fulfillment in their lives. It is a sad and vicious cycle that can easily be broken if we simply choose to walk in the opposite direction of the crowd. Letting go of vain imaginations and grabbing hold of who God says we are will keep us from falling into that zombie, herd-like mentality and behavior that sucks the very personality out of those who are unfortunate enough to fall victim to it. So my question is… Who are you? How would you think, look, behave and live if there was no one else around to influence you? That person is the authentic version of you that God himself handcrafted with exquisite design! The YOU that God created is the most incredible version of yourself that you could possibly be and the truth is There is No One Else Like You, so let’s chat.
We have all been there. You’re on social media scrolling down your news feed and you come across a picture of someone. They look glamorous, they’re wearing a beautiful engagement ring, just bought a new house or maybe their on vacation on some island that looks like the front cover of a resort pamphlet. Suddenly you feel yourself feeling “some kind of way”. You’re not normally a jealous person so why do you feel so cringey about seeing someone else’s success or happiness? I don’t know either, lol. No really though, it doesn’t make any sense, especially when you yourself are pretty blessed right? Well I’ll tell you, it’s because we are human. Yep the secret is out! Because we as people are constantly seeking to upgrade ourselves and our lifestyles, because that is what the world shows us that we are to do! And if we don’t fit the world’s standards then we are automatically not worthy of being anything. So rather than to feel ostracized by the world around us, we would rather look like “we too” have it all together, therefore we choose to “fake it” like everyone else. But here’s the problem with that, many never actually make it. People are faking it and faking it but never actually making it! Many just pretend that they have “made it” to make you feel like you haven’t, because that is where their identity is rooted. Their identity is rooted in how others perceive them. So how can we prevent ourselves from getting caught up? Our identity MUST be rooted in Jesus and in who God says we are. Let’s look at the Bible.
It is through him that we live and function and have our identity; just as your own poets have said, ‘Our lineage comes from him.’ “Since our lineage can be traced back to God, how could we even think that the divine image could be compared to something made of gold, silver, or stone, sculpted by man’s artwork and clever imagination?
Acts 17:28-29 TPT
Wow, now that is so profound! The word says that through God we live, function and have our identity. Our lineage can literally be traced back to him! Not only that but he asks us how could we compare his divine image that he created us in to anything man made? Nothing that another person can even think of could compare to who God made us to be! Now think of all of the people we see who have been “sculpted” by other people, money, and other things that they have placed their value in.
We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it.
Ephesians 2:10 TPT
I love this scripture. God calls us his poetry! That is absolutely beautiful. He says he has re-created us to fulfill the destiny that he has given to EACH of us. Which means no other person could possibly know who you are supposed to be because God planned who you would be before you were even born! How you would look, what you would do in life, he formed your very destiny long before another ever thought of you.
But you are God’s chosen treasure—priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world .
1 Peter 2:9 TPT
Now tell me you don’t love this! God calls us his chosen treasure, kings, a spiritual nation who has been set apart and devoted to him. We are his very own and we are here to broadcast his glory and wonders throughout this world. That is why it is so important that we do not conform to the world because we are actually here to change it!
I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord!
Psalms 139:14 TPT
Yes I agree with King David in this scripture where he says that God has made us mysteriously complex. That is so amazing. All of the cool, quirky and unique parts of who we are is on purpose. Any part of your personality that has been judged, mocked, criticized or condemned by anyone has actually been intentionally placed inside of you. That is one major reason why the enemy tries to cause us to reject those parts of ourselves. Or he tries to get us to alter ourselves to look like someone else. If we can’t be authentic then we can’t walk in our true identities, therefore we can’t effectively function in our calling or walk out our destiny. Without being able to fulfill our destiny we cannot broadcast the truth of God’s glory in the world. Our recognition, acceptance and embracement of who we really are is the key to unlocking what we are made to do in the earth! Without it we will never be authentic.
I will be a true Father to you, and you will be my beloved sons and daughters,” says the Lord Yahweh Almighty.
2 Corinthians 6:18 TPT
Lastly, God tells us that we are his sons and daughters. Enough said, we are children of the Almighty God. That’s all we need to remember. I pray that this discussion was effective in helping you to see who you really are is who you were made to be. You are special, spiritual, chosen, treasured and truly one of a kind. There really is no one else like you because there is no one else like your God and you were made in HIS image. So take this word and let it sink deep into your heart, then go out into the world show it what you’re made of. Because God made you to be a representation of Christ’s light in this world, so show his glory like he created you to. I pray that any doubt that you may have had about yourself has been completely obliterated. May God help you to see the best in yourself as you go out and tackle all that he has set before you.
